SPC Ardmona is recognised as a major employer in the food industry and one of the largest employers in regional Victoria.

SPC Ardmona has manufacturing sites at Shepparton, Mooroopna and Kyabram in the Goulburn Valley and offices in the Australian capital cities. SPC Ardmona also has manufacturing operations in Thailand and Spain.

What we do:
SPC Ardmona is Australia’s largest producer of packaged fruit. Our wide and varied range of products includes processed fruit, vegetables, meals, soups, jams, sauces, confectionary, juice and desserts.

Our five principal brands are SPC, Ardmona, Goulburn Valley, IXL and Taylor’s.

Who works for us:
SPC Ardmona employs 800 full time employees, with a further 3,000 seasonal employees required during the main fruit harvesting season (between December and April).

Senior Managers -Manufacturing -Human Resources -Finance - International Business -Grocery -Food Service & Industrial -Marketing & innovation -Supply Chain & Logistics Lead a Division of the business. Responsible for the operations of their Department, and support the Managing Director in organizational planning and management Relevant degree and post graduate qualifications expected
Factory Managers Responsible for the operations of the factory sites, including, OH&S, manufacturing, labour and financial responsibilities. Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in food manufacturing
Engineering Managers Lead a team of Engineers to design, manage and implement projects to improve the fruit production processes Tertiary qualification
Human Resources Look after the needs of all employees. Support the development of personnel and manage industrial issues. Administrative staff support the Human Resource Managers and are a vital part of managing the employment functions for such a large workforce. Tertiary qualification Support staff - no formal qualification required but recognized certificate in Business Admin or similar would be an advantage.
Sales & Marketing Sales and Marketing promote and sell SPCA products Nationally. This department includes Account Managers who look after the interests of our major customers (Supermarket chains and the Industrial market), administrative support people and marketing people who develop advertising strategies and campaigns. Tertiary qualification Business/Marketing degree Support staff - no formal qualification required but recognized certificate in Business Admin or similar would be an advantage
International Marketing Develop new markets internationally. Profile the SPC Ardmona brands overseas and work with international customers to produce products specific to their requirements. Tertiary qualification Business/Marketing degree Sales background
Trades; Fitting & Turning Mechanical engineers install, repair and maintain food processing equipment. Includes metal cutting, folding, welding and lathe work. Cert III Mechanical Engineering Trade qualification (4 year apprenticeship leading to the trade qualification)
Trades; Electrical Install, repair and maintain the electrical components of food processing equipment and plant. Also the programming and monitoring of electronic instruments and equipment. Cert III in Electro technology Systems electrician trade qualification ( 4 year apprenticeship leading to the trade qualification)
Production Manager Responsible for the operations of their Department within the Factory, including production, planning and labour management Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in food manufacturing processes.
Food processing Food processing employees work in a variety of different areas. Some operate machines for the processing of fruit into cans and jars. There also roles for forklift drivers, people to work on label lines, warehouse stock and clean & wash down equipment. No formal qualification required TAFE certificate: - machine operator - food processing
Food Science Including: Innovation & Technology Quality Research & Development Food technology cover a variety of duties including being responsible for the research, innovation & development of new products. They also identify microorganisms, grow cultures and generally ensure that the products are of the correct standard and are safe for human consumption. Research and development can involve creating new product lines, developing new recipes and also introducing new processes. There a variety of careers available in this area depending on qualifications. Tertiary qualification in Applied Science; Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food technology or similar. Finance Finance Accountants oversee the financial position of the business. Cost accountants are responsible for overseeing costs associated with manufacturing products. Many clerical positions also support the Finance department, including the accounts payable/receivable department. Tertiary qualification in accountancy. Business admin or similar for support roles.
Information Technology The IT department manages the network computer system which supports the business. These people are responsible for creating reports, maintaining the system and providing user support Tertiary qualification
