Work placement & work experience students:
If you are interested in applying for a work placement/experience position with SPCA there are a wide range of professional careers including:
Business Administration
Students requesting a Business Administration work experience or placement could be asked to complete filing, photocopying, data entry and general office duties. They may also be asked to do some basic spread sheeting work, typing and reception duties.
Engineering
Mechanical engineering students may be involved in TIG welding (stainless welding) Arc welding or MIG welding. They may also complete sheet metal work including marking out, cutting & folding and metal preparation including grinding. Students may also be introduced to the machine workshop equipment to complete a small project such as a stainless steel mug or box.
Electrical
Only qualified electricians are permitted to handle anything involving electrical power. As a work placement student you can expect to observe electricians at work, assist with laying cables, install conduits, and connect and disconnect non-powered devices.
Information Technology
Limited placements are available in this area. Students who have been successful in gaining a work placement can expect to assist on the help desk (providing support to users and answering queries) be involved in “roll outs” of new equipment and assisting in the repair of existing equipment and the installation of new software.
Food Science
Students interested in food science will be exposed to a variety of activities including testing product for quality and safety and the development of new products and technology.

Upon receipt of your application and resume Careers Connectionwill check the detail and content and forward the request to SPC Ardmona.
SPC Ardmona will then formally contact you regarding your application and placement details.
